The first theatre production experiment in Nuova Sicilia came to life last night in the Teatro Massimo Falcone e Borsellino. An SL remake of Samuel Beckett's "Eh Joe" was directed by RL Dutch Theatre Director SaveMe Oh, starring Dutch Actor Cupido Oh and American CallieDel Boa as "the voice". The play combined live avatar acting using both streaming audio and SL voice and an innovative SL to SL live video stream to two screens on each side of the stage to better capture avatar close-ups. Nuova Sicilia 2 opened its doors early to show its support in light of the events in Burma. A Human Chain, launched by a couple of Austrian SIMs, swept across the Second Life grid on Saturday with avatars wearing monk's robes and protest t-shirts. Nuova Sicilia 2 was the third SIM overall and the first Italian SIM to join the effort, with people from several countries showing their unified support - Italy, UK, Spain, France, Germany, Austria, Cuba, US. Yet another wonderful example of how Second Life can enable multi-cultural communities to express their views to the world. |

Already considered one of the most beautiful lands developed in Second Life, Nuova Sicilia 2 will be opening its doors to the public in October. Nuova Sicilia 2 will be soon available to brands and businesses looking to leverage Second Life for the purposes of innovating with new services, new ways of interacting with customers and extend their visibility. Nuova Sicilia 2 has been developed with a handful of objectives in mind. The creation of a visually stimulating environment capable of inspiring emotion, passion and creativity. An environment available to anyone wanting to implement their own ideas around the convergence between the real and virtual worlds - with special emphasis on art, culture, music and business. But also an environment where residents of any nationality and language can come to imagine, create, interact and enjoy themselves.
